I have one in our Subaru and it works great, but we lost the cord. I had to get the entire unit to replace the cord. Oh well, I guess I now have a spare.

I have installed several of these over the last few decades and thankfully they remain high quality. Easy to install without leaks.

Worked well for two weeks, then began to fail. After a month was completely dead. Did a continuity test on it, and it was totally open (no resistance). Hopefully I just got the one in a thousand that broke quickly. Was very easy to instal, though..

I installed this block heater on my 2004 Subaru Impreza outback sport, EJ25 motor. Removed the freeze plug from right behind the water pump thermostat housing, on the bottom of the motor. Works like a champ in -30 temperatures in Alaska.

Works great, typically last me 3 years in AK. Try to avoid over 50% glycol concentration as this seems to make them fail faster.

Easy install on a 1999 Subaru Legacy 2.5l engine. Gets the engine nice and warm in about an hour. Just get a heavy-duty timer and set it to warm the engine up an hour before you start your commute. No need to waste power all night long.

Didn’t fit 2018 Subaru Impreza as stated. The body hit the casting on the engine and protruded too far to plug in.Overall I like Zerostart products and this would be no exception had it worked for my application as stated.

Listed as compatible with my 2006 Outback. It is mostly, but what wasn’t obvious until reinstalling the exhaust system is that the cord will contact the very hot exhaust manifold unless it is kinked strongly 90 degrees - which is always bad for wire. And even then it is quite close to the hot manifold. Having a badly kinked cord so close to the hot manifold is a serious risk of electrical shorts and fire. It really should be supplied with the cord that has the right-angle plug on the end.
