Just installed this in my 2012 Chevy. Really easy to install. I installed this on the driver's side front, right behind the power steering pump. The plug that you need to remove requires a 17mm allen head to remove. The block heater requires a 26mm socket to install. I had the heater ready to install and maybe lost 16oz of coolant.
Wonderful item

Seems to work ok. The only thing I didn't like is the sensor in the end of the cord that prevents the heater from working until - 18* C or colder. I just cut the plug off and replaced it and it works good.

Good product, fits well. Cord was too short for my application, had to splice in an extension.Turns out there's another version that doesn't have a thermostat cord for $20 cheaper, wish I'd have known about that before I bought this one since I had to cut the plug off anyways.

Seems to work just fine. I’ve only had to use it once and my truck started like summertime.

Works great, better than the other brand we bought last year that you could not even get the plug into the heating element.UPDATE: This week it got to -30° here in MN. and the block heater DID NOT work. I suspect it's the thermister in the cord so I will cut the plug off like I did with my old heater cord with another truck and that one has worked fine ever since. These people who make these block heater need to take the thermister out of the cords, as the fail much too often.

Installed this and 2 years later it has stopped working. Tested resistive of the wiring and it’s fine. Resistivity of actual block heater is overload/open.

The cord is shorter than the original, so it will need to be routed differently. But this was basically half the cost of just the cord from the dealer. Block heater is a bit of a chore to put in but was exact match to the original.

big surprise the heater even had the genuine G.M. part number stamped on it for 1/4 of the O.E.M. priceterrific value

Heater works great, cord is about a foot shorter than the oem cord. Fixed my issue!
