The diameter of this tool was too large preventing the tool from rotating in place. I even lifted the clutch basket and placed the tool in place first, but the diameter issue prevented the clutch pack from seating properly.

Its diameter is too big to fit between the transmission housing the clutch basket. Appears to be too short as well. When I forced it between the housing and the clutch basket it held the clutch basket up which didn't allow a shim clip to be installed.To be honest I'm not sure what the purpose of this tool is. I measured/set the end play without it. Others on the internet have skipped using this tool as well. Even if it fit it seems too imprecise to be used to check/set end play.

Without this tool the job is impossible, plus it worked well.

Doesn't fit the DSG 02E Transmission. It is too fat to fit between clutch pack basket and inner bell housing. Effectively useless!

It worked and the DSG clutch system functions after the install, so that was important.
