I bought this because my cv clamp was leaking and I didn't want to remove the axle. I was looking at the different types of clamps and there are different options. This tool was highly recommended and literally took me less then a few minutes to put the clamp on. The clamp is still holding over 2000 miles later and isn't leaking so we can say this tool does the job. I think its a clone off of a Toyota tool. The biggest reason to buy this is if you don't have a lot of working space.

Purchased for its intended use and it worked great! I would just recommend that you lubricate the all contacting/sliding surfaces and the threads. If you're replacing your CV boots, you probably have some grease that would do the job...LOL.
