I purchased this pencil sharpener in May of 23 because it was cute. I had no real expectations other than how it would look on my desk. 3 semesters later and it's still working despite daily use by 5th graders. So far, no jams, no overheating, no issues. Cute *and* functional.

Received this product yesterday and opened it right away. We had been struggling with an older battery powered sharpener that I've had since college (about 12 years) for awhile now and I had finally had enough. I didn't realize this one was a plug in, but that's fine. Very cute looking and a little larger than I thought it would be measuring about 4.5" x 4". My kids loved it right away. It's very stable with suction cup feet on the bottom. There is a toggle switch on the top back that you change the level of pointiness that you want, very easy to use. Just stick the pencil in and hold it still with slight pressure and the sharpener does the rest. You do not have to pull the pencil out to check if it's done, the sharpener stops automatically! This really works! The sharpening mechanism has a different sound than any I've ever heard, maybe the "helical blade"? And it's more quiet than our last one. The pencils come out perfect! We've only had a couple of leads break/fall off right after sharpening out of probably 20. The kids can use it, ages 3 and 6, with no worry that they will sharpen our pencils down to nothing (because it stops the sharpening when done) and they like that they can use it for their colored pencils whenever they want. The shavings bin is easy to pull out and empty. I would recommend and buy again!

I love these little pencil sharpeners. They are so cute and kid friendly. They do a great job sharpening pencils and as long as you don’t let the tray get too full, they can handle kids using them. My first grade students have access to these pencil sharpeners in my classroom and they work great. I am tempted to get a few of them.

I bought this sharpener for my class in October and it stopped working in January. As cute as it is this is a waste of money. Buy the ugly sharpener that will last longer than a couple of months.
