Five years after purchasing, I encountered an error code when I tried to use my Instant Pot. A quick Google search revealed that the sensor was likely the issue. I ordered a replacement sensor, installed it, and now my Instant Pot is working like new! I’m very pleased that the Instant Pot is designed to be serviceable, so I didn’t need to buy a whole new unit. Kudos to the makers for creating a product with longevity in mind

Swapped out the old one on our Ipot 8 quart model and it was good as new. No need to recalibrate. The trick was to pull the boot up on the heavy spade connectors and disengage the locking tabs when removing the old sensor. The new unit connectors snapped in perfectly.

When my Instant Pot turned on and gave the dreaded C6 error code, I thought I was going to have to replace the entire thing. Nope, this little part was what needed to be replaced. Turn your IP upside down, remove the one screw from the base and lift it off. The pressure sensor is screwed into its plastic holder with one screw and has three plug-in connectors (no soldering required). Just make sure that you reconnect the new wires to the same places that the old ones were plugged in and voilá! You now have a perfectly working Instant Pot again for $10..

I had a hard time on the number of stars to give. For me, it is actually a zero, since the low pressure sensor part does not fit. The old one is shown with the blue high pressure sensors - notice that there is nothing protrubing. The new one, which the description says fits 8 qt DUOs has something that will not push in to fit the tiny box with 2 very thin wires in it. In trying to do so (before I realized that the protuberance will not push in), I broke one of the wires. Now I am buying a new IP! Mine was 7 years old and I suspect a design change in this part. The sensor replacement part will probably work in newer models, so should have a 5 star rating. My suggestion is to look at your part before ordering this replacement!
