i'm using this long masonry bit to break out the remnants of a 4x4 fencepost that rotted at ground level. I wanted a wood bit and couldn't find one but this bit is working great.

I needed to bore through 27 inches of mutiple material wall - cinderblock, red brick, and concrete at various layers - to run a 1" conduit (1 1/4" OD) for a new fiber optic line. We already had the SDS+ hammer drill, but the biggest bits we could find from the name brands was 1 1/8". Anything larger required SDS Max. So, given a choice between spending the money on a max hammer drill for a one-time job, or taking a chance on this 1 3/8" with an extender, I took the chance. I did work up to size with pilot holes, starting first at 1/2", then 3/4", then 1" and lastly with this. It cut through with no issues at all, making sure to pull out to flush the debris once the bit was fully inserted while using the extender. It bigged down a little in the red brick, but so did all the other sizes. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with this purchase.

Got through 2, 8†holes in hard old concrete without any chipping or cracking of the carbide tips.
