Drill bits were needed to drill water drainage holes in terracotta saucers I use for bird seed.Worked well, quick work drilling the holes.Packaging is as shown, stapled together, so some of the bits were loose in the Amazon delivery bubble mailer.Bits work well for what I need them for.

Ordered these masonry bits to drill into stucco for hanging outdoor decorations. Note that the bits I received are measured in MMs, not inches as shown in the product description photos. I did a test using the 6 MM size, an impact driver, and three materials: brick, porcelain floor tile, and stucco. First was the brick, and the drill bit had no problem boring into it. Next, using the same bit, I drilled into the porcelain tile. Although I was able to slowly drill into the tile I stopped after about half-way through because I felt I was damaging the bit. I used that same bit to drill a hole into stucco, and I had no problem doing so.The bit did wobble, like other concrete bits I have used in the past. Not sure if the wobble is intentional to evacuate the material and/or penetrate the hard surface. The holes were reasonably round but I did notice elongation at the hole entry points. I cannot speak to the long-term durability of the bits because I only drilled three holes. I can say that I thought the drill bit was finished after drilling into the tile, but it easily drilled into the stucco for the final test.I like that there are multiple bits for the more commonly used sizes. I do not like that the bits come in a blister pack rather than a drill index (or similar enclosed case). Although the blister pack is reasonably secure at the moment, I can picture the pack opening on its own after a few uses (not good if you place the pack in a tool bag). Overall, I would say the quality is on par with other drill bits I have used in the past so I would not hesitate buying these.

This is a nice little collection of masonry bits. You get 5 different sizes with multiples of the most commonly used. They're the typical blue color, which indicates their use for masonry. That makes it easy to distinguish between my other non-masonry bits. They do a nice job of creating a smooth hole to let me start up my concrete anchors. I also can use them for other surfaces but I haven't tried them yet. I wish it came in a case as it would make it easier to store. Overall a nice set of masonry bits.

I live in a home that is made of concrete block, so anytime something needs to be hung on the walls, i have to break out the drill and concrete drill bits. This set of bits provided a good range of sizes, which fit my needs perfectly. These bits are well made and fit into my quarter-inch drill drive perfectly. The tips are precision enough to allow starting a hole without the bit walking all over the place. They drill into concrete blocks like butter, and in the situation or two where I've had to drill into actual rock or other types of concrete materials, have been very effective for those needs as well. These bits ship in a blister pack. I wish they came with a case, but that's not a big deal. The blue color makes them very easy to distinguish between my other bits that are placed loosely in a tool box drawer, making them easy to locate. For general masonry drill bit needs, it's hard to go wrong with these. I highly recommend them.

The good…- I like this design of these masonry drill bits with a highly tapered drill head instead of the flatter type head. I found that with these type of bits are much easier to start drilling without having the drill bit slipping on the surface as much.- I like the heavy durable coating.- The bit sizes are clearly marked on the drill shaft both in inches and mm.- I also like the quick connect/disconnect shanks.- I tested the 3/16†bit on a concrete paver which easily drilled a good sized hole. The not so good….I was disappointed that no case was included with this drill set. Any kind of case would have been far better than having no case. It’s annoying to have to pick through a bunch of drills to find the size you’re looking for!

This review evaluates the “Assorted Blue Masonry Drill Bit Set with Strength Carbide Tips (3/16â€-1/2â€)†made by JOERIC.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging. What’s in the box: ten (10) assorted carbide-tipped ¼†hex shank masonry drill bits in sizes 3/16â€-1/2â€.First impressions: The overall quality of bits seems very good. The drill blank is made from 45CR grade structural steel which is known for its hardenability properties. It is topped with YG6X tungsten carbide cutter heads for durability and longevity. The bits fit smoothly in a ½†standard drill chuck with no slop or slippage. The bits are ideal for all types of masonry drilling: brick, concrete, ceramic, and clay tile. ProTip: A key element to a clean, easy-to-cut hole as well as ensuring extended drill bit life, ALWAYS use water to cool the bit and help flush out chips. Also, set your drill to its low range and it is essential that you don’t “force†the bit into your work – let the bit do its job by providing even positive pressure. Forcing the bit into the work or using the bit dry will excessively overheat the bit and quickly dull it. I tried these bits on typical small projects such as mounting a mailbox to the side of my friend’s brick house and anchoring a couple of brackets in a concrete wall. The bits performed smoothly and efficiently. They are ideal for drilling small diameter holes up to 3-4 inches deep in normal-grade concrete or more porous materials like brick and cinder blocks. They work great for installing Tapcon screws as well. They are not contractor-grade bits you’d use for harder grades of concrete, for that, you would need SDS hammer drill bits.Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. To determine drill bit durability and length of life, I intend to monitor this product over the next 12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordingly.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am satisfied with the product; it does the job easily and conveniently. Proper care will last quite a few jobs. At a current price of $27.99 plus a $8 off coupon (or $2 each), I feel that this product is fairly priced for the quality and functionality delivered. In reality, at this price, if you use the kit for one or two jobs it has paid for itself. In summary: the “Assorted Blue Masonry Drill Bit Set with Strength Carbide Tips (3/16â€-1/2â€)†made by JOERIC is well made and does the job easily and conveniently at a fair price. I would recommend this product.Pros ðŸ‘:✔ Made from good quality materials.✔ YG6X tungsten carbide cutter heads for durability and longevity.✔ U-groove spiral shank design efficiently clears debris away.✔ Comes in a convenient hard plastic case.✔ Economic price point and great value.Cons👎:✘ None.

Over the years I've had to use a drill from time to time and I've had nothing but a bunch of old drill bits handed down to me from my father and they were all pretty dull. I saw these on Amazon and decided there's no harm in trying them out, I'm glad I did.I was in need of something that could potentially cut through metal as I got a new toilet paper roll holder that was made of metal but would not adhere with the sticky pad to my bathroom walls which are painted. Because of this I need to use screws, and in order to use the screws I need to be able to drill holes into the metal toilet paper holder.I chose a 5 mm bit to use considering it was the best choice for the job and practically perfectly match the screws I have so I got to work on drilling two holes through a sheet of metal that was a few millimeters thick. It took some effort on my part, but after a few minutes I successfully managed to cut through the piece of metal that will attach to the wall. The cut is nice and clean on the front side and on the back side I will need to file it down a little bit. The drill bit barely has any of the paint rubbed off of it and that's about it. It still feels as rigid and sharp as it was before and I think the reason this cut so well is because the tip is made with a tip that I've never seen on any other drill bit before. It goes out and then down into a point, and that point helps cut harder materials better I think. The drill bits are strong and didn't offer to break while drilling this hole. I would have loved to have had these a few months ago when I had to repair my metal handle for my scoop. I ended up going through two old drill bits because they both broke off while I was drilling through the metal handle. I think this drill bit would have held up to it without any issue because they feel very rigid and strong.Down at the base they are made in a hexagonal shape as well which helps keep them from slipping in the drill as the drill itself can grips onto the sides of them a lot better, which ends up keeping them from slipping at all. The drill will jam before these will slip. That is one thing to be careful about.Regular price of these drill bits are about $28 and I think they're worth that price. At the time of purchase there is an $8 coupon, so it makes them $20 for 10 drill bits. That seems like a steel to me. these are well worth picking up if you need a new set of drill bits. They're not even advertised to cut through metal and they still do.

The packaging warns not to use these bits with a hammer drill. Most of the times I've used masonry bits before, I used them with a hammer drill mode.I think that they don't recommend using these bits with a hammer drill because they are a lot sharper than normal masonry bits. So the sharp edges will probably risk chipping if you use them with a hammer drill. The sharper point of these bits makes it easier to start a hole exactly where you intend. They do drill through concrete (with water for lubrication), but a hammer drill drills faster. So I'm not sure I'd reach for these bits for drilling anything significant. But for softer or thinner materials, these bits make sense.

These surprised me at how well they performed in concrete block and actually remained far cooler than many of my other bits without water (I was drilling into a wall where keeping water on the bit is difficult)I used the 6mm bit on the wall. The first picture is the bit after drilling 4 holes. Other than the loss of paint there is no noticeable wear on the bit.I used the 8mm bit to test drilling into soft and hardwood and found while it cut ok it wobbled and created a hole slightly out of round. I did a follow up test on a piece of cinder block and it cut better in this material but still created a slightly out of round hole. I used this same bit later on a job site to drill into a concrete floor. This was clearly a far denser concrete than the cinder block and the use of water really helped to cool the bit. The first hole was with a cordless drill the 2nd hole I used my corded hammer drill and it performed very well with this drill. While these will cut wood there are far better bits for that purpose in my opinion. Where these work best is concrete. Slower RPMS with cooling especially on denser concrete yields a good result with minimal wear on the bit. There is some wobble in the bit that creates a slightly out of round hole but this has not impacted any of the fasteners used for me so far. In my experience with concrete these are far better than many other bits I have used at or slightly above this price point (at time of review these bits where about $2 each)

For the longest time, I've been using the freebie masonry bit from my Nest doorbell to mount an assortment of stuff outside on brick/mortar. So it's about time I get a proper masonry bit set. This 10 piece set from Joeric looks and feels more substantial than my current bit. Having a selection of widths definitely helps a lot for doing the job appropriately. The bits feature a cutter head made from YG6X carbide which has a high level of hardness and wear resistance. The arrow head shape helps it stay center without slipping during the initial part of drilling. Of course, this is nothing new as even the cheap 12 piece set from Princess Auto has the same head shape. I tested this on a spare brick in the backyard and it worked as easily as described with hardly any wear noted on the cutter head. With a 1/4" hex shank, it fits perfectly in an impact driver but instructions state not to use it this way. Like most masonry bits, a hammer drill is the method of choice. While both tools have a hammering effect, an impact driver hammers radially for driving screws, while a hammer drill hammers along the tool for punching a hole. The latter is more effective for brick work. What I would not advise is to use the bits with a regular drill. The bits wear out extremely fast this way because the job takes many times longer and you'll need to have water around to cool the bits.My only complaint is the lack of a carry case but this is easily omissible when considering its price tag over the big brands. Overall, a very nice masonry bit set that seem durable and works well.
