I already have one similar but larger convex mirror on one side of our driveway, but needed one more to check for traffic coming from the other side of the driveway. Our yard has hedges on either side of the driveway. Consequently, when pulling out of the driveway and onto the road, we need to poke the nose of the car across the sidewalk and into the road in order to see whether there is any oncoming traffic, or pedestrians. So it can take a rather long while to inch onto the sidewalk and then onto the road. Occasionally while nosing onto the sidewalk, we find that there are pedestrians preparing to cross our driveway --sometimes runners. So it can be a bit nerve wracking. This convex traffic mirror was ordered to help resolve this issue. Now we have two mirrors, one for each side of the driveway, and both tucked away in trees, largely hidden from pedestrian view. This Berverra mirror and all hardware are well-made and sturdy, and installation was easy. I had initially been worried that the mirror might be too small for me to see the roadway while sitting in the car. It isn't as easy to see as our other mirror which is just a bit larger, so I placed this mirror on the driver's side where it is closer for the driver to see. I notice that the company, Berverra, makes larger mirrors, like 18" and 24", and those might work a bit better, or they might be overkill.Like our other one, I mounted this mirror to a tree that is about three feet away from the driveway and right next to the sidewalk. Although I mounted the mirror facing in from the street, I was able to swivel the mirror into a good position to see traffic on the road and on the sidewalk. Although it is just a bit smaller than ideal, it is still fully functional and works well.

This mirror is functional, mounts easy, and does what it is supposed to. Where it falls short is the way it feels and it seems like if this was to be mounted in direct sun, this would not last. The mount is nice and solid, but the mirror itself is made of thin plastic, both the mirror surface and the black backing. Mine will be in the shade in a carport so I think it will do the job fine.

I have seen these wide angle mirrors in a few places where entering and exiting traffic is dangerous due to blind spots. I'm certain the ones I've seen while driving are also 12", but in person this appears much larger. I will be mounting this outside my tiny home. It is a simple install.
