I am going to have to spend some time practicing with this lid, as I had a few issues on my first go around. As others have mentioned, it does contain the splatter. There are some caveats to this benefit however. The deep bowls cannot be used or the beaters don't reach to the bottom with this lid on. And it really restricts the movement around the bowl if you have the lid on the proper way. I read that someone else flipped it over, so I will try that next time and update this review.

These arrived perfect I am so thankful for these. I’m sure they are going to come in handy. They’re very sturdy and they are new and they were well wrapped in a box just as I ask and it’s a good thing because other packages I had received they were mashed and crushed. Wish I'd had this years ago! Definitely helps prevent a good bit of the mess - not all, but a lot of splatter can be avoided on countertops, etc.
