I purchased these to grow 8 different types of basal after it was announced that Aerogarden will be closing and I saw they were no longer selling custom herb kits. I purchased these and my own basal seeds. I set these up 2-3 weeks ago and already have some really solid starts to all 8 kinds of basal. They were easy and quick to set up. They come in pretty big packs, so I should have enough to try many different plants! They work very well with Aerogarden... honestly I feel like they fit better than the ones that came with my garden! So far, so good! Very pleased.

I used this in my Aerogarden systems and have had great results. My germination rate is the best I have ever seen. This product has more seeds than the holders can accommodate, which I see as a positive, so just order more inserts. The plastic holders are reusable, but be sure to clean properly before reuse.

Fit well in the aerogarden I have. Variety of seeds. The strawberries never grew and the first 2 attempts failed with the cucumber. They'd outgrow the plastic cover, then die when it was removed. The 3rd try worked well.

These sponges are very dense and the roots struggle to grow through them. My seeds in these sponges grow very slowly compared to other sponges and the roots pile on top of the sponges. I have started to take a small drill and add holes to the bottom of the sponges just to use the product up before I buy something else.

I have seen a consistent algae issue with these. I just planted a mix of real AeroGarden sponges and these. About half of these grow algae the aero ones do not. I suspect these are seeded with algae to start.

I got this kit for my aero garden and it's pretty decent. Price was fair considering some of the other brands. The plugs and "pots" are the perfect size for my setup. These seem to work a little better than the plugs the unit came with, the seeds are sprouting a little faster so far. I like that I can use my own favorite seeds that I have already been growing for years. Definitely a good lil package deal with everything you need.

The only reason i didn't give it a five star is because the plastic pieces that hold the substrate are a half an inch shorter than my original ones that came with my official Aerogarden "Harvest Elite" (holds six plants at a time). It still fits in it snug/flush so that they aren't lifted up from the base. I didn't count each item but just from eyeballing it I think everything was there.

I really appreciate the plastic labels, they stick on more solidly and are much easier to remove than paper labels. The domes are also higher than regular domes, which allows me to keep the domes on a bit longer as the seeds sprout. Very happy.

I’m so impressed that I can grow lettuce in my Aerogrow when using the grow kit. The germination takes only days and it tastes so fresh
