This is a great hose shut off device. I like that it is all metal, including the turn lever. I have had plastic ones before but they never last very long as the plastic breaks down too quickly. This lever is easy to turn and the device attaches to the end of the hose easily without leaking. It comes with extra hose washers which I have to replace regularly due to the hard water. I haven't used the quick connect feature yet, but may get the extra parts to use that later. Great product!

I have been using a garden sprayer to fill up kiddie pools. I don't have all day to wait for the water to fill so I needed a valve that would let the most amount of water back. Obviously I could just not use anything at the end of the hose but I'd have to walk 50' to turn the water on and 50' to turn the water off, so a valve was needed at the end of the hose. These work great for high flow.PROS:- brass and heavy duty- high flow and can adjust for lower flow if neededCONS:- I could not find any. Will see how it holds up over time.I would recommend this valve and will probably get another.

I think this was originally part of a set with a brass shutoff value with a quick-connect fitting added on. I don't know what they are talking about with the gutter cleaning attachment.I got it because I liked the good quality brass 1/4 turn shutoff valve. The 4 extra hose washers are nice too, always need those. The quality seems good. The valve is fine - a little stiff but with a little use it will get better and shuts everything off quickly.Just the valve is a great price compared to others on Amazon so I can recommend it. If you have something that the quick-connect will hook to it would be even better.

The nearly all metal construction is very sturdy and durable. I'm confident it will last outdoors in the elements for years. The 5 extra rubber washers are a welcome addition, and prevents any leaks from forming, and to provide replacements as the rubber dries out over time. The quick connect feature works great attaching to the quick connect female adapter when needing the extra length. The convenient shut off valve provides adequate flow control and convenience when the faucet is far away. Recommended!

My journey through hose management has gone from buying the cheap stuff that works but doesn't last, all the way, finally to something like this, perfect quick-change coupling and valve connector.When you're thinking about buying hose pieces such as this, one thing that's easy to forget about is sun exposure; quite often your hoses are going to stay outside in the sun all day, all year, so that's what makes getting the brass connectors so much more important. I bring this up because the plastic versions of the quick connectors (which by the way I have, and can testify that these ARE compatible) are nice & cheap - but within one Summer, you'll see the plastic fading in color, and thus, quality.The same thing goes for the valve; quite often you'll see the plastic ones, or even brass ones with plastic handles -- those are NOT going to last a long time. I've had handles crumble after long exposure, and then what? You're left looking to replace it. Just get the quality connectors whenever possible.I plugged these in and didn't have to adjust anything; perfect connection with no leak. :)

I needed to replace a previous shut off valve due to the lever being plastic which broke. With this one I don't have to worry about the brass lever breaking but will keep an eye on the screw holding it to unit since that seems to be the only wear area. It came with 4 extra gaskets which is nice for very long term use on a garden hose. Best of all it also came with the male end piece that can be used as a big nozzle for rinsing things off or for what it is intended for which is connecting to a female quick connect that can be screwed onto anything that connects to a hose so you don't have to screw it on each time you use it. Most of my equipment already has the female on it so I didn't have to order any for this to be useful. Overall I can't find any flaws with this and am sure it will last me a lifetime even if I do end up replacing the screw I mentioned.

This is a great quality valve, brass fittings will always last far longer than their plastic counterparts. However my one problem is the actual opening is very small causing a significant flow restriction in your hose line. This becomes a problem especially if you connect your hose to a power washer where flow and water volume is important. Keep this in mind. Good for watering plants, but if you're running a power washer, filling a pool, etc you don't want this restriction in line.

This is my review for Brass Garden Hose Shut Off Valve - Gutter Cleaning Hose Attachment, Heavy Duty 3/4 Inch Solid with with 5 Extra Rubber Washers/1. Have you ever been using your garden hose with a spray nozzle on it and drop it down to the ground and the handle on the spray nozzle opened it up and sprayed you in the face? Well that will never happen again if you buy one of these. You can buy them in brass or you can buy them in plastic and they all work the same and that is great. The brass ones will last a million years while the plastic ones may only last 20 years. I think they cost the same. Also, you can take this to the recycling shop and have it melted down and get paid more than the product cost. It works great It's heavy duty and you won't get hosed in the face. What's better? Highly recommended.
