Don't understand why this doesn't have 100% five star rating. It's that good. Powers a 1/2 inch hole through nine inch wood, again and again and again. Still sharp!I was thinking maybe I should have gotten a Forstner bit. No way. This thing is fast.Really, really impressed. And inexpensive as well!

I used this to drill 32 holes through creasote infused used railroad ties with an 18v Makita cordless drill. I'm pretty surprised that both the bit and the drill held up to that abuse. The bit did tend at times to clog near the tip on ocassion but after extracting and clearing the compacted chip it continued to burrow on through the railroad ties. This is a heck of a value, sub $8 and it managed to survive 32 deep holes. I'll touch up the tip with a file and it is good as new as it is slightly dulled after 32 holes through dirty RR ties. I would recommend this bit.

Worked great for aerating stump left behind underground after stump grinder finished. Hope it speeds up composting process.

A little hard coming out of hard wood however this makes the cleanest wholes ever. This product is not perfect but it gives you quaity holes and that is all I can ask for
