These are quite useful. I experimented with several options from home Depot mainly plastic or other latching mechanisms that performed extremely poorly for me and I eventually discarded. This fit the bill perfectly is robust heavy duty and holds a heavy door in for me. I like the fact that you can mount these to attach two different ways which I had to do for my installation where the mounting brackets are 90° out from each other and not in line.

I have old wooden doors in a bedroom that were a bit warped. These are rock solid! They are a bit tricky to install, requiring an exact fit. Start with the two pieces together, and mark off where the smaller of the two pieces goes on the door. Then attach the small piece to the door. Put the clasp (larger piece) on, and then mark where that should go on the door frame. Install the clasp and you are good to go!

Purchased these to latch crawlspace access doors in place. I didn't want the access doors to have hinges or handles, so I figured using multiple of these tension latches would allow me to hook the door in place. This didn't end up working for me, as the walls and frames aren't perfectly straight and didn't allow these latches to go together completely flush. Unless the catch can go all the way into the ball latch side, it won't hold.Minus 1 star for two reasons: First is the strength of the metal. One of the pieces already had split metal at the screw hole on arrival, and another completely sheared off at the screw hole while I was messing with it (granted, I was torquing it a bit with pliers to see if I could get it into position, but it was surprising how quickly it broke in half under pressure). Second reason is lacking flexibility in usage. Unless the things you're latching together are perfectly flat and straight, these won't work for you. E.g. if you're intending to latch a cabinet door to the frame, if there's even the slightest curve in the door or the ball-catch piece doesnt sit right at the edge of the frame, it won't latch.Overall, good product that I'm keeping - I expect I'll have a use for them eventually. If used exactly as intended, it's effective and holds strong. If you're looking to latch two flat things together, this will work for you. If there's any variance in the items you're putting together, I'd guess you're going to have a headache trying to get these to work like I did.

These work great. I used them to secure drawers in an RV. I like the adjustability.

The cabinet door latches on my 1986 Catalina sailboat are perfectly matched by the latches found on amazon. I was prepared for a lengthy search and possibly have use a substitute., but there they were. Amazon is amazing.

Bought to hold a 3 basket cabinet it my camper. Small lightweight one. These work fine and I can easily take it out when not needed.

I like the metal construction and look but the overall ability to hold a drawer closed is pretty low compared to the plastic RV alternatives out there. I really wanted these to work but it's just a no go. Pretty difficult to line up and install. The adjustment feature works but again the holding power is pretty weak.
