I have a GMG Jim Bowie Prime (12V). I have gone through two GMG brand ignitors that are metal. This ignitor is a direct replacement and works great so far!

I installed this. It was not the right size. It was way to small for the hole and blew my fuse as soon as I turned it on.

I don’t do many reviews but I do like to help out when I can. I don’t think I’m the only one that looks for details in product reviews when trying to match up parts that I’m not sure about, so here goes. My electric igniter quit working a couple years ago and I just learned how to “jump start†the fire pot with a handful of pellets and a torch. I finally decided to freshen up the old smoker and among other things (grates, pellet detector for the hopper, etc.) purchased this igniter. I did the installation yesterday and it fit perfectly despite being a white ceramic contact rod instead of some kind of pot metal like the original. My grill is a GMG Daniel Boone Prime stamped 02/2019 on the serial number tag and has Wi-Fi and a window on the door. It also gets its power from a 12v DC converter that plugs into a 110v AC receptacle. I can’t promise that this will fit your grill but it’s installed and working perfectly in mine. From what I can figure out, there’s more than one kind of these ignition rods available and they’re not interchangeable, so don’t just pick the cheapest one and hope it fits/works.

Installation was fairly easy. Looked up how to on Youtube and had to adjust since GMG can't make up their mind on naming, so it's hard to fine specific instructions for their Prime smokers.Installation (not counting removal of the old one) took 2 minutes. Pellets lit as they're supposed to.Will update if any issues arise with more usage, but, as for a first impression, works as expected.

Replaced my broken one on my gmg trek. Fit great the only hard part is taking the grill apart to replace the part.

This part works, however, it could have been easier to install. The original piece is a bit thinner and this part's insulated sleeve is too thick to fit through the orifice. I had to remove the rubberized end and then re-tape tighter to only about a 1/2 inch of tape so that the insulation would not catch. It slid through much easier after multiple attempts in its original state. I used a fishing line to attach to the end of the original wire when I pulled it through and then used that line to pull the new wire through.

Replace the old igniter on my Daniel Boone - only took me 5 mins after cleaning the burn pot first. Works great so far. Glad there was no soldering or anything complicated.

it worked well for less than 2 months than the resistance went up and it no longer works. I have been unable to get any assistance.
