This is a well made container with some useful accessories. But I think It misses the mark a little. To explain why, I'm sharing my process and if you are in a similar situation, you'll understand.I sous vide my bacon whenever I can. Just dump the original package for 8-24 hours in a water bath at 64°C. Immediately after removing it from the bath, I like to drain the liquid out of the package into a container and let it cool down. I have previously relied on a clear measuring cup for this. Now the liquid that I separated in this way, has water as well as some gelatin along with the fat. Which means that the cooled down byproduct separates into three layers: White bacon fat at the top, yellowish water in the middle, and gelatin all the way on the bottom. With a clear container, separating the bacon fat out to use or store is much easier. So for that reason, I don't see myself using this container as the first step in reserving bacon fat. I am only putting in cooled solidified bacon fat into this container for storage. That means I don't see much utility in the strainer unless some days I want to drain hot fat from stovetop cooked bacon.
