This is a good quality pipe tap made from tool steel, unlike some of the other pipe taps sold here. I've only used a couple of times but it's sharp and cuts well.

I needed to thread a pipe for a level sensor I bought. I have a tap and die set but did not the the 1/8-NPT tap that I needed so I bought this one tap. It did the job for me and now my sensor is permanently mounted.

I got this item for some hobby projects and it worked well. Tap was sharp and came oiled to prevent rust. A couple points for newbies like me: the socket is a 14mm square, so it needs a larger handle to hold than what typically comes in a set, use a tap oil to help make clean cuts, pilot a slightly smaller hole first (9/16 was recommended online), and then use a tap like this with tapered end.

This is a high-quality 3/8 - 18 NPT tap. Even though the description says it's suitable for machine or CNC tapping, I'll only be using it for hand use and that's fine with me. I do a lot of oddball plumbing and renovation projects, and tools like this tap come in very handy when I'm repairing a hundred-year-old fixture with NO spare parts available. Nice tool to have when you need it, and I do.

Do not buy this product, obviously made in China or something, NPT tap is supposed to be tapered, looking at my original tap that I was trying to replace is tapered and the brand new one on the left is straight, I even measured it with my calipers to make sure I wasn’t seeing things, do not buy this product

Made out of cheap cheap metal that shatters. Don't waste your time with this. Even using cutting oil for the tap and it broke. Go elsewhere.
