Works very well with about 6 miles of fence. Needs about 100 to 400 watts of solar panels. In the winter I need at least 300 watts but 100 watts is enough in the summer. You need to make sure that you have at least 3) 6 foot ground posts (1/2 to 3/4" galvanized pipe) at the charger and several more along the fence. Ground all of the non electrified wires. Run ground wires under the gates. Make sure to use a waterproof solar charge controller. Use zinc ground pipe clamps and fence wire to connect to fence and ground posts. This will prevent galvanic corrosion that you can get with dissimilar metals such as copper. If you use multiple panels than you will need addition connection cables.

Awesome charger and came fast hooked it up and pigs got in it and now can’t even get them to go out the gate lol the last charger I bought at tractor supply was junk and kept feeding back through the ground with not enough power to hardly phase the cows this one works better than expected I’m truly satisfied

So far it’s been a great charger. I really appreciate being able to see the output voltage.
