I love the dome it is perfect for what I needed to be able to get a warm enough space for my sourdough starter, my heat is set at 68 or 69 and the starter likes to be a bit warmer.It is not the the base it was supposed to be used for. I bought the less expensive base heater.

This dome certainly helps keep the heat consistent for my sourdough starters. Would give it 5 stars if it was taller. A quart jar will almost fit, but it leaves a small gap between the base of the dome and the warmer. Plus with the top of the dome being round, it's a little hard to see through it when you're trying to see inside your starter jar.

I wanted to try my hand at a sourdough starter from scratch but my kitchen was too cold. I bought the dome and it has worked perfectly to keep in warmth!

Love the concept but does not fit most jars. Very small mason jar will fit but not most starter jars found on Amazon. Difficult to use due to this
