I used these build a reusable concrete form. I needed to be able to bolt the form together and disassemble it easily and repeatedly. Wood screws weren't going to work well for the "repeatedly" part so I tried these. Unlike the "brand name", these don't have scoring along the threading but, not having used the brand name units, I can't say if this makes a difference or not. I can say that they take a fair amount of force to thread in, even though I used the included drill bit. The effort might be less if they had the cuts along the threads. I put them in with a little wood glue just to be sure they'd stay and they have. They seem to be tougher than the "regular grade" bolts as I kind of cross threaded one and it destroyed the bolt not the insert.

The inserts are really good, the drill is the perfect size, i always add a little glue in the hole to prevent the insert from coming lose.
