It kind of works. The battery meter is tied with the voltage it detects. So if you are wanting a guage for the battery capacity and voltage, it would be pretty inaccurate.Installed on my gas golf cart and when I accelerate and voltage increase and the battery meter just goes dark after 14v.

If I could give zero stars I would. This was a waste of my time. All four units were DOA and would not light up or give any indication of operating. I tested these units with a lab grade regulated power supply. I finally bought a more expensive unit from an established manufacturer, which worked perfectly.

Wide voltage range is super handy in and out of automotive uses, and I plan on using this in a variety of situations, though I will put it behind a switch -- I didn't measure power draw (I may, later, and update review), but it's bright enough that I wouldn't want to leave it drawing power from battery while I'm not around.The colors are super-crisp, much more like the product marketing than my pictures. The wide voltage input range will make this a go-to voltmeter for projects I put inside ABS casing, I think, and the voltage read matches my multimeter. Positive and negative terminals are clearly marked, and the terminal connectors fit nicely. Most importantly, it's much prettier than something I'd cobble together with a little OLED screen and some bad programming. :) Good job.

I really, really like this little voltmeter. My only complaint is that it's super bright but that's not the end of the world. Installation is super easy, drill a hole and connect two wires and it's off and running. Having the gauge is a nice little addition that I didn't know I wanted before but I'm glad I have it.
