My headline says it all. NOTICEABLE difference in the ease of steering when moving. My only regret is not doing this modification years ago. I also couldn't help but think of just how inexpensive it would've been for the manufacturer (John Deere) to install these bearings from the start. Another advantage of installing these bearings is that it gave me an easy opportunity to check and grease the front end components during the install. Simply stated: Do it!

Super easy to install; not too many tools are needed. A well stocked toolbox will have everything you need to do this job. A roll of paper towels is highly recommended. I took the opportunity to have my front axles upgraded to bearings, at the same time. The whole experience was under an hour, including refilling/replacing the grease.

This set of thrust bearings and washers arrived on time and well packaged. They fit my JD D130 mower perfectly. I've mowed three times now since installing this bearing kit. These bearings have made a noticeable improvement in steering my mower. I wouldn't say power-steering, but much improved over what it was.I would recommend this bearing kit to anyone considering an improvement to their compatible mower's steering.

Saw this on YouTube and thought I’d try them on my Craftsman YT3000 riding mower. Nothing to lose for 6 bucks. The washers look like good quality and are as advertised. I installed them on my steering pins and went for a ride. Couldn’t tell a difference. Ok maybe just a slight improvement but NOT a power steering feel. And I really didn’t like the idea of the exposed rollers collecting dirt plus you can’t reinstall the top dust caps. So you’ve now introduced two new sources of possible damage. I removed them and put it all back to factory spec. I will say for riding tractors this is a good idea in concept. If not doing it already the engineers should find a cost effective way to make the steering a bit easier, possibly with sealed quality bearings.

Steering was very hard. Changed the bushings in the steering shaft and re greased the steering knuckles and was and improved. Took off the knuckles again and Installed the needle bearings and was another improvement. Over all worth the money. My tractor has 800hrs and feels like new again.

Bought this kit to improve the steering on my John Deere D140 lawn tractor. Had to grind down the top of the front axel at each end in order for the thickness of the two washers and needle bearing to fit within the wheel shaft assembly. It did improve steering ease.

Not sure if I would call it power steering but the mower does steer easier. Very easy to install.
