I used it to change out brake fluid. The suction was good but it doesn’t hold the fluid once it’s sucked up. The fluid with drip out so you have to hold the hose tip so it doesn’t leak back out. Because of this there is absolutely no way to suck the entire amount. It doesn’t do well holding the suction so I don’t know if it’s the o-rings that are failing.

This "pump" is perfect for putting fluids into your engine, transmission, transfer case, differential, and more! It also could suck engine oil or other fluids out if you have a tough to deal with situation, like a boat engine for example. It has a few different tubing options but the only issue is to use the smaller rigid tube you have to put in the larger diameter tube into the quick connect on the pump then use the rubber coupler that comes with it to step it down to the smaller tube. The small tube cant directly fit into the pump. I have a MUCH larger version of one of these (almost 2 quarts) but i wanted something smaller for tighter areas or situations where i need less fluid. Its nice that it comes with an extra set of o-rings too!! This is great for down the road when they get worn out or start leaking, you aren't "up the creek" and it will give you a bit of extra time to find some replacements!I added photos of the end of the plunger because its recessed and wanted to show that if you plan on pushing fluid with the outlet facing UP you may have issues pushing all the fluid out as it will sit in that recessed area. You'll have to throw a bit of extra fluid in OR just make sure you point the outlet end downward then draw in some air, then let the fluid settle by the nozzle. Then when you push it out it WILL push that fluid through the hose. Trust me, my larger pump has the SAME setup and I have come across the same issue... I think its kind of a standard in the industry that they are shaped that way, i just don't know why.OH, i highly suggest you NOT clean this out with solvents like brake parts cleaner!! It will most likely damage the o-rings and discolor/cloud the plastic. I say this because a friend did that with his similar pump that he got from a MUCH more expensive tool truck and it trashed his pump. I doubt this one would withstand a harsh solvent!

Good fluid extractor. It has 3 hoses that work well, I just wish they were a little longer. I used it to remove about a cup of oil, the tube went down the dipstick hole and worked great. Good suction. It comes with extra o ring seals which is nice but I will likely loose them before I need them. Good manual extractor for about $8. I recommend it to friends and family.

Nice pump with plenty of extension tubes, adaptors and extra set of Orings.Pump says do not use with corrosive liquids.Gasoline is not considered a corrosive liquid. But Gasoline can have an effect on certain plastics, rubber, and aluminum if exposed over time. Since the pump has a aluminum push/pull piston rod and unknown plastic and rubber the advertising should state something about Gas considering it does say "Automotive Fluids" pump. But all the Ad says is oils and Fluids and instructions only says "pull handle to extract oil".Instructions do say clean thoroughly after every use to prolong life so that could be an indirect green light to siphon gas but could end up a major fail. The pump to hose brass/plastic spring quick connect is convenient but gimmicky. If it fails nothing in the kit will slide or connect onto the pump and the brass hose connector appears epoxied into plastic pump (looking inside pump I can see dried drip puddles around inside brass) so unscrewing and replacing doesnt seem possible. All in all .. Nice pump as is, Usage Questionable, Ad Wording or Instructions could be better, and Longevity is questionable due to plastic lock/unlock ring.

I destroyed my old fluid extractor by pumping some corrosive liquids so that one ill use for corrosive stuff. This new one will be for fresh oils. I like that it comes with lots of extension hoses, extra seals and a hose barb. It works well and is high quality. One thing I didnt like is that the label didnt come off cleanly but that is a minor issue. Overall this is a great replacement for my other fluid extractor and ill make sure not to pump brake fluid and brake cleaner with it.

When a vehicle gets older, some fluids may need to be changed and they is no drain plug to do it. This is where this pump comes in handy. It can easy suck the fluid out of the fill cap such as power steering fluid or even brake fluid, especially if the vehicle has a remote tank. I needed to do a reverse brake bleed and this tool made it easy to remove the old fluid.

I ordered this automotive fluid extraction and fill pump primarily for maintaining brake fluid in my vehicles. I service eight cars for myself and my family members, and having the right tool saves me a lot of time.Several features drew me to this product:First, the syringe operates very smoothly, making adding or removing fluid easy. The scale on the side allows me to know precisely how much fluid I am transferring.Second, the included hose simplifies reaching the master cylinder, making access much more manageableThird, the syringe and hose are translucent, facilitating easy visual inspection of the fluid.Overall, my experience with this product has been excellent. If you maintain your car(s), this tool should be in your toolbox.
