So having installed this as a Z Axis on my 3040 (Upgraded from a 3018) I am so happy. Slide is exceptionally solid with no sideways or vertical chatter or play which I had with the original Z Axis. However there are some things to note,1. Packaging was very poor and the bottom plate is slightly damaged, this does not affect operation but is a concern.2. All screws including the Stepper motor were not tightened and had to be tightened.3. Wiring for the stepper did not match my existing wiring and took a little to work out.4. I had to make my own mounting gear for the anti backlash nut which you kind of expect as no X axis mounting kit is included so factor that into your cost/time.5. You will now want to replace all your axis with Ball Screw threads and replace your rails with linear square bars!So with all of the above why does it rate 5 Stars, well once you tighten it up its incredibly good with the addition that unlike the upgraded Aluminum 3018 pro this has slots you can easily add limit switches as well as 4mm threaded holes in the top that you can add support hardware for your drag chain. One last thing to note that all mounting threads are 4mm which may be too small for some but seem to work fine for a full size 1/4" router, I would also purchase some 4mm Square nuts to make use of all the channeling thats down both sides and the back of the Z axis.

The combination of the linear rail and ball screw makes this actuator tight and sturdy. Massive upgrade from 8mm round rail lead screw actuator with plastic body. Some notes, the mounting plate on the ball screw does not include standard adapter plate so will require something to adapt from 30x30mm bolt pattern m4 screws. The wiring also had to be changed for the stepper motor to move. It just vibrated when wired as is.

The linear axis is solid and of nice design. Originally I received a unit with incorrectly sized coupler between the stepper and lead screw. The seller promptly replaced with the correct size. Product would have been 5 stars if not for this incident.

Really a fantastic linear drive. Much better than the other Befenbay model that depends on the motor coupling to support one end of the ball screw. This one has strong supports at each end. Wiring is fine, works great, very durable.

Very solid, well machined and constructed. Nice unit.Only reason I returned this is because it is too large and heavy for my puny 3018.Really good price for the quality of the product.

Is this 5v? 12v? 24v? 48v?No one knows. There is zero instructions. Will I blow it up accidentally? We shall find out. I believe this motor “NEMA23 Stepper Motor†is a 12-48v one. I guess testing we shall find out or return.This item is solid though. It does not wiggle.There are imbedded nuts on all sides.- one of my units is missing a set of them.^ I will update after testing. But so far 12v gets it to make a noise and then nothing.

I purchased this stage for precision motion with a step of 50 micron. The stage was installed in a dust-free enclosure. The load on the stage is negligible. After a couple weeks, there is a hold on the slide while operating. When I tried to turn the ball screw manually, I can feel a backlash from the slide after every few rotations. This is not acceptable for a ball screw. Now the return window from Amazon passed and sitting with a stage that is useless.

I wasn't expecting much for the price, but this linear actuator is built to a high standard. Feels very solid with no perceived backlash. It's easy to take the end plate off to add more mounting nuts as needed.

Ich habe mit dieser "Z-Achsen-Konstution" (und weiteren Upgrades) meine 3018 aufgerüstet.Das Ding hat null Spiel verglichen mit der Orginal-Konstruktion, ist dafür aber auch bleischwer. Trotzdem schaffen es die orginalen NEMA 17 über eine Kugelumlaufspindel dieses Teil locker hin und herzuschieben.Apropos NEMA; der Verbaute Stepper hat mir mein Controller-Board zerschossen (also wohl den Z-Achsen Treiber, X/Y funktioniert noch). Ich habe auf dieser Z-Achse dann den ursprünglichen Stepper von der 3018 montiert. Das funktioniert jetzt einwandfrei (mit neuem GRBL-Board).Das mag an meinem Board oder meinen Einstellungen gelegen haben.ich bin kein Profi, was Metall, Mechanik oder CNC angeht, aber ich bin von dem Teil echt begeistert, mit Abzug für die Treiber-Zerstörung. Und eine Wartungsanleitung für die Lager wäre sicher auch recht hilfreich.

Hohe Qualität und extrem stabil. Tolles Update für eine 3018 als Z-Achse, wenn man eine 500 Watt China-Spindel benutzen möchte. Ich habe sie mit einer 6mm Stahlplatte an zwei MGN12H Linearschienen verschraubt. Die beiden 2020 Profile haben mit den 8mm Stangen den Platz getauscht, die Trapezspindel bleibt wo sie ist.
