First one went up in smoke, checked the circuit and everything looked fine. Thought maybe just a bad chip so I replaced it. Second one went up in smoke as soon as I took the trigger low. Then the Third one went up in smoke. I took my last LMC555 and it worked just fine. Even soldered one up to an SMD to DIP board to test on the breadboard and that one went up in smoke as soon I triggered it. JUNK!!!

Cmos version of 555. Read the datasheet for the difference. Just be aware these are MUCH smaller! Won't fit directly in your breadboard! To bead board you'll need to break it out somehow.

"QUANLITY" might be good, but quality is questionable. must test before using. otherwise great IC. cmos version allowed me making a timer circuit consuming just 0.02 mA
