Your cart is empty. The LM555 is a highly stable device for generating accuratetime delays or oscillation. Additional terminals are providedfor triggering or resetting if desired. In the time delay mode ofoperation, the time is precisely controlled by one externalresistor and capacitor.
For astable operation as an oscillator,the free running frequency and duty cycle are accuratelycontrolled with two external resistors and one capacitor.
Thecircuit may be triggered and reset on falling waveforms, andthe output circuit can source or sink up to 200mA or driveTTL circuits.

The 555 has been around for many years and that's because it works! It's also easy to work with and the LM version requires little current to work. Add a couple of resistors and caps and you've got a simple flasher circuit.I like these older ICs because the pins are a tenth of an inch apart making it easy to work on. It's perfect for many electronics projects.
