the plastic melts really easily and the metal connectors melt right out of the button. Very little internal structure

They're alright for how cheap they are, but the springs are extremely stiff and you'll need pretty heavy debouncing. Not great for use in a controller or other mainly digital application as a result.These buttons are as cheaply made as you would expect for the price.Also, don't solder to them! You can get quick disconnect connectors. I got some 0.110 crimp connectors and they fit almost perfectly -- some of my connectors are a tad snug, but that could be wide tolerances on the connector rather than on the button.
