Bought it because our smart thermostat wasn’t getting enough power. I was able to attach it and hook it up while my husband was at work. It did the job wonderfully and gave power back to our thermostat immediately.

I used this transformer to provide power to a single Nest Thermostat. The thermostat was wired for heat only (R and W wires) without a common. To wire this in, I first shutoff power to my boiler. At my thermostat, I then removed the R-wire coming from the boiler (tucked into the wall) and connected the two wires from this transformer to my R and C terminals, keeping the W-wire connected from the boiler. I then turned the boiler power back on, then configured my Nest Thermostat for R-W-C wiring. Everything has worked and the thermostat is no longer throwing codes for low power.This solution works best if you have an electric outlet near your thermostat or near the wall you're going to fish the wire up to the device.

It was obviously used and the wire was damaged. Did not work for me. Ended up ordering the nest power connector. Just threw it away so they wouldn’t send it to somebody else.
