I’m one that tries to buy reasonable quality for reasonable prices. Sometime you simply take your chances. Browsing Amazon for a Koehler 22 hp regulator/rectifier replacement I looked through dozens at all different costs. I’m thinking shoot, how can I decide? So, humm, I said it’s a toss-up, but wait… Look at the item weight. And low-and-behold this unit was one of the heaviest in the group! Bought it, installed it, started my mower. It started instantly and I let it warm a minute before checking the voltage. The original r/r measured 13.86 volts at idle and full throttle.This unit measured 14.44 volts at idle and full throttle, Perfect! This was on my 2018 Cub Cadet XT2 that I just replaced the original 300 cca battery with a 340 cca battery. So today I say yes to this R/R

The rectifier is currently working as it should. A thorough set of dimensions would have been nice prior to ordering. In addition, a better understanding of the electrical component structure would be helpful in assessing the quality and durability of the item prior to purchase. Overall, it appears to be an equivalent to what was previously installed. I have also read and heard that Kohler didn't provide adequate cooling of these components in their mounting location, and it is my understanding that remote mounting the device will extend its life.

Tried to use it on Wisconsin AGND motor and got too hot to touch within a minute. And the B+ output was zero. My fault asking it to handle a 30A stator
