HOW TO CHARGING THE CAPACITOR?
- STEP 1/Remove the fuse for your audio system that connects it to your battery. This fuse is often in-line with the power wire of the amplifier that your capacitor is going to be connected too.
- STEP 2/Wire up your capacitor by following all the instructions in the installation manual.Make sure the power, ground and if applicable the remote turn on wire of the capacitor is connected.
- STEP 3/ To begin charging the capacitor you need a resistor. Often times these are included with the purchase of a capacitor but can be purchased separately if necessary.
CAUTION: Discharge the capacitor quickly by replacing the battery with a wire. Do not touch the capacitor directly. Again, observe the values on the voltmeter. The voltage will decrease to zero.

Great quality, easy to install, works great! I was a little skeptical at first when i purchased this unit I run a sundown audio SA classic 15†@ 1ohm off of a Rockford Fosgate power T1000 1bdcp along with a Rockford fosgate T400.4 power series with Rockford for power for mids and highs, I’ve heard mixed reviews about capacitors vs batteries and I decided to try this before the a second battery upgrade, it works great for what I have I now have no more voltage drop, bass sounds crisp and clear and amps are producing nice clean sound from my amps. This is a must have for anyone experiencing audio voltage drops and headlight dimming, don’t listen to to the people hating on capacitors, try one for yourself, and if you don’t like it then buy that expensive second battery!

I’m using two of these capacitors wired in series for a 24v set up on a large power inverter. They help keep the inverter from shutting down from sudden short voltage drops when starting quick heavy loads like welders.Just like other reviews mentioned, the blue lights are very bright and can be distracting and annoying, but in my case it’s OK cause it’s in the back of a box truck solar powered mobile repair/welding shop.These type of capacitors are great for short quick bursts of power like a quick split second bang sound when using for audio.It protects your battery from the quick short voltage draw spikes. If your the bass hit is more than a few milliseconds it will not keep your lights from dimming cause that’s not what these are for, you need a bigger alternator for that.

Only thing I don't like is the light comes on by it self when SUV is turned off but it doesn't really use any power so it's all good

Before installing this product I had a problem with my headlights dimming when my bass would hit. My radio would also sometimes shut off. Since installing this product, I haven't had any more issues. Installation was easy with included hardware. Would recommend.

I did everything right on set up. Now it's lights up for maybe 2 seconds,then shuts off

This capacitor is perfect for your custom audio sound system! Easy to install if you know the methods of installing a sound system.It comes with all the necessary accessories to get this all hooked up. All you need is two eyelet connectors and some additional wiring, preferably the same gauge as your amplifier.The included manual isn’t helpful at all. It did not include the most important part of the installation, and that is to slowly charge this capacitor up using the included resistor.While charging, this capacitor will beep until it reaches at least 10 volts. It took me over 30 minutes to get this to charge up to only 8.8 volts. Not sure why it did not charge up to 12.6 but what I ended up doing was starting the car up and let the alternator charge the rest up to 12.5. Then, turned off the car and noticed an immediate drop in voltage and it turned itself off. I removed the resistor and connected the capacitor directly. It turned on and read 12.8 volts with the car off. I turned the car on and it started to read 13 to 14 volts.This capacitor stays on for a few minutes after shutting the car off then it automatically goes into power save mode. However, if you open a door, your interior lights turns on and starts using battery power, which then the capacitor turns on as well to stay charged up. Then shuts itself off.After getting everything installed, I have to say that I am pretty satisfied with the results. My lights still dim a bit at extreme high volume, however, my lights also dimmed but at low volume. My volume will be at 6 with full bass and my lights would dim out. Now with this capacitor, I can have my volume as high as 30 with full bass before my lights start to dim.The bass now sounds crisp and clear. My amp no longer struggles to get the power that it needs.The built-in LED read out is pretty bright and blue in color. Can be annoying if this is installed in the rear of an SUV or minivan, but in my case, I drive a small sedan so the capacitor is installed in the trunk along with the rest of my sound system, therefore the lights are not visible from inside the car. I can, however, bring the rear seats all the way down to see the LED readout while in the car and to also have some air flow to my complete sound system.All in all, I am extremely happy with this capacitor. I highly recommend this to improve your car audio needs.
