This was very easy to install when replacing my broken one. The cord's definitely long enough for most engine bays. You just need to be willing to get your hands a little dirty and hug a tire as your route the cord from the engine to the bumper.

The first pictures are of the original equipment from Ford. The last couple of pictures are of the finish product installed. Took only about 30 minutes because of the confusion of the part they sent me vs the original. Not he same but it does fit the 2001 f350 power stroke. Has an angle at the end you connect to the truck. The original is straight. The original had a twist ring and the part from Amazon has a nut 30mm. After the install and running it back to the front and zip tying it in the original position. I waited once I plugged it in and I could feel the block heater working due to the temperature change to the touch. (From the connection)

Nice addition to the truck. I do get a few days here that warrant using it to heat the engine around this time of the year, but I expect it will be most useful when I'm traveling, since nearly all members of the extended family live in places where winter temps are much colder. I do plan to wait until my next oil change to hook it up, though, since the connection is behind the oil filter and easier to get to when the filter is removed. Very sturdy power cord.

Worked really well. Especially in this cold weather. Felt it heat to the touch and had no problems. Well made and works well
