Working Principle:
When the motor starts up, it has to overcome its inertia and the reaction force of the load. Therefore, it needs large current and torque when the motor starts up. When turn to normal, in order to save energy, large torque and need a drop, add a set of auxiliary to motor coil, work only at boot time, normal after it is disconnected, the PTC thermistor series auxiliary coil at startup, starts the PTC thermistor into the high impedance state to cut off the secondary coil, just can achieve the effect.

I could not find a part number for the Start Relay under the model number for my refrigerator so I compared the Amazon photos of relays to the relay parts from my refrigerator, checking the number of wire connections and wire placement to make sure they matched my old part. My old Start Relay rattled when shook, showing it was bad. I also replaced the Overload Protector which was also matched by photos as I could not find a part number match for it either. I accidentally broke the Overload Protector (as seen in photo) while removing both parts (a learning curve issue). Gently pry off the black Start Relay first as the white Overload Protector is has flat tabs that are located and lock under the Start Relay. Shake the Start Relay and if it rattles, it is bad. I also checked the compressor for electrical continuity through the 3 prongs as shown on youtube to make sure it looked good. Frig is now back to running and total cost was under $15. Hard to beat that, and great on the budget. The refrigerator had quit running. The compressor would not run and the condenser fan would not run (everything seemed dead). There are some good videos on youtube showing how to check the compressor wiring for shorted out compressor and how to trouble shoot your refrigerator problems. I couldn't have done it without that resource.

If your old one rattles its bad! Bunch of YouTube videos out there for troubleshooting. Dont be misguided by one or three pin relay.IMO the industry should be calling them one or three terminal relays. The one or three pin nomenclature the industry uses to identify these relays are specifically talking about the quantity of electrical connections on the relay not the pin connections going into the compressor. (just saying)Simple fix $7.99 for two relays (one spare) rather than $100 for a new mini frig for the mancave..

I had figured out I needed this relay and the vendor for the fridge was selling fr a lot more so I tried Amazon. My only brief concern was that I had requested the QP2-4.7 and the units that were delivered were QP2-4R7, but the piece was exactly that same size and shape as what came out so I installed it and the fridge is now working again. I also now have a spare as the order included 2 units which I was not expecting! Thank

I got a better price buying a two pack relay for my beverage fridge then buying one. It cost about $6.99 for one an $8.99 for two. So of course I bought the two pack because that seems to be the always thing that goes out on beverage fridges. I hope this helps you out with your purchase for your next part for your beverage fridge.

The compressor in my 2 year old Komos V2 kegerator stopped working one day. I thought the worst but fortunately found some troubleshooting tips online and narrowed it down to a faulty PTC. I replaced this and the overload and it’s working great again!

Easy install. Light was on, no compressor activity. This fixed it, and the 2-pack is cheaper than single piece from other sellers!
