I had an older battery jump started and the plastic clips holding it together broke. This is a pretty cheap way to get the pack usable and safe. Simply cut the old cables strip back the covering and insert into the new one ( some adjustment is needed ) but nothing major

These are functional battery clamps that you can screw ring terminated cables to. They are a good value, but thinner metal than some others at similar price points. I have no reservation using them though and have them connected to one of three batteries that I keep on a battery charger / maintainer. For this use case they're fine. If you're trying to make heavy duty jumper cables though or they're going to be someplace where they're beaten up (particularly any twisting of the pivot) then you might want something more substantial.

Usefull kit to make jumpers. I used #10 wire and assembled a light duty 4 foot cable to help start a riding mower - works very well without the tangled mess or large wires and long cables.Clamps are TOTALLY insulated with plastic so no worry about shorting out: soldered the wires to the clamps.

These are smaller than the description would lead you to believe. The description does have dimensions, and I haven’t checked for accuracy, but the picture in someone’s hand is of a tiny hand. I attached a pic showing clamp in my hand. Also the description has a picture clamping on a battery and the clamps are nowhere near as big as pictured. The metal is by no means heavy duty or sturdy as described. It’s not thin, but not heavy either. There is no “thickening” at the business end as also described. The crimp and screw are small and I think that you’d be lucky to get an 8 gauge wire in there, but a 5? I have doubts. The rubber coating on the handles is thin, but I think should be fine. There are some tabs you fold over the wire downstream from the connection to the clamps, and these are thin (you can see them in the description pictures) and easily bent by hand, so I’m not sure how well they will hold the wire if under pressure, but there are three tabs total, so I guess that with all three in place it’s probably a little stronger. These are nowhere near as robust as any jumper cable clamps I have had, even the cheapest ones. I was planning to use them to attach a trolling motor to a battery, and they’d probably be ok for that, or for a charger, fishfinder or other electronics. The spring is good and strong. So, overall, adequate for some light duty uses I think, but I would not use for any heavy duty use or for jumper cables.

gets a good bite on the battery posts, strong spring and the metal is thick enough so it won't bend easy

The negative clip was SO bent, that it was almost unusable. It took a lot of work to get is close to usable without snapping the rivet that holds the spring in. If I was using these more than just once in a blue moon, I'd send them back.
