These whistles are not quite silent - there is still an audible whistle - however there must ALSO be a silent pitch that does attract dogs. I stood in the kitchen and blew on it and not only did the dogs come running - BUT the cats poked their little heads around the corner as well!! These are well made, stainless steel and plastic and come with little lanyards.

These whistles are so useless, they do not create an ultrasonic silent noise that only pets can hear. You can hear it trying to produce a possibly high pitched whistle, but it can't hardly get anything out, so it'll leave you winded just to get a semblance of a whistle noise from it.
