Just for reference, I have a pitbull puppy that clearly need more training. Barking is one of our hardest problems. The best way for me to correct him is to distract him. Treats work but it gets too treat focused and only will respond if there's food in hand.The whistle seemed to make sense. The lanyard isn't a woven kind but a step above a ribbon from the feel of it. The whistle is attached to a clip that hands onto the big jump ring. The jump ring is thin and bends easily so be mindful.As for the whistle itself, it isn't a heavy duty metal one but also not a cheap plastic one either. It's a good middle ground in weight. There is a sound when I use it. I can hear a bit of a whistle when I blow. My dog doesn't seem to even notice me blowing unless I'm really breathing into it. I'm not sure if mine is just one that doesn't work as well, but it doesn't seem to be working very well.I tried it at the local dog park and got mixed reactions. Some breeds seem to respond to it, while others didn't even seem to care at all so I'll leave it as a mid-grade at best.

Solid product, easy to adjust the pitch with the adjustable screw and then cover with the plastic outer cover. Nice that it has a clasp that can be released so you can throw it on your keychain, or wherever, instead of permanently being on the lanyard ribbon!
