Note:
Before removing the old switch, please disconnect the fan from the power supply and make sure to note the location of all disconnected wires during the removal of the switch.
Donn't cutting the wire from the old switch, insert a very small screwdriver next to the wire and pull it out.Then insert the tinned wire into the new switch in the same order as the removal.
If you cut the wire, you will lose the hard tinned end and it will be difficult to insert a new switch unless you peel it again and re-plate the soldering iron.

If you are here, you pulled the fan chain and it broke. You are sad and confused. Well, fret no more. These things are great! They were a direct replacement for my fan. The install is super easy. Just make sure you take a picture of your existing connections so you put everything in the correct place with the new switch.The connections are easy to make. I have fixed 2 fans with these switches and they are working terrific.The pull is nice and smooth as well.Great value, and work great!

If you have a “The Hampton Bay†fan and broke your chain inside this will work for you. Just be sure it has the 4 wires like shown in my first picture. Also be careful because the capacitors will have charge and can potentially shock you. Not a hard install. Hope this helps you from having to buy a new fan.

The clicks are really hard and grind a bit, bonus is there's no directions on the wiring. Hopefully the original has similar wiring with the number system.

First I bought locally and neither switch worked on medium speed. Bought these three on Amazon for the same price as one locally and it worked perfect. Three speed settings just like it should. Would buy again!

Picked this set up a couple of years ago to replace the bad pull switch on my 10 or 12 year old ceiling fan. The switch looks and feels up to spec and was easy to swap. I have seen some complaining about instructions, but like any electrical repair, just make sure each wire is swapped in the correct place. THe back of the switch has specific markings (1,2,3,L) on each slot... Just make sure your new switch is wired the same as the old one.Now, the mediocre score is due to the replaced switch failure in about 2 years. My fan did not originally come with the best quality parts, it's just a basic model store brand light and ceiling fan from Home Depot, but it at least worked for a decade. Good thing I saved the other two switches that came with this setup.So, to sum up. Swap was easy, the new switch fit perfectly where the old one went. THe draw for the switch is smooth and the 'click' is clean... Works great! At least while it works.

These little guys will get your 3 speed fan going after your old switch dies. Why doesn't Home Depot and Lowes sell these? I only saw 3 wire switches at both places. Who knows, who cares. Get these cheap in a 3 pack and have spares for when your other fan switches go out. Installation is easy for the DYI'er, and a beginner can do it after watching any of the thousands of youtube videos out there. The terminals are marked L-1-2-3 for easy ID, you just push each wire into the captive slot and you're in business. Best to have the wire ends soldered so they are stiff enough to poke into the slots. I can't speak for durability since I just installed it, but it works and the price was right.

My ceiling fan is a 3 speed fan. For over a year I could only use 2 speeds on it. I was making my bed and while fluffing the comforter it caught the chain and completely broke off, now making the fan inoperable. I googled how to fix a ceiling fan and was made aware that it was probably this switch that broke. I watched a you tube on how to fix it. I new it was something I could do. So, I checked Amazon and of course they sold them for a very good price. I ordered them. I was able to replace the broken piece and the fan works perfect again. All 3 speeds operate well. This was a fantastic buy.

Funciona perfecto para ventilador WESTINGHOUSE de 3 velocidades (Alta, Media, Baja). El original después de varios años de uso, se rompió la cadena desde el interior del Switch. El que actualmente vende como reemplazo, tiene otro arreglo interior que no funciona.

Este producto sustituyó a otro semejante que se dañó por el trabajo a traves del tiempo; hasta ahora ha funcionado muy bien y recuperé mi abanico de techo.

My 3 speed ceiling fan became hard to control with pulls on the chain giving seemingly random speeds. Before looking for an expensive fanreplacement, I removed the bottom part of the fan assembly, unclipped the multi-wire connector and took out the chain and switch. It was obvious that the switch was worn. I ordered these 3 switches, the best value on Amazon, and received them two days later and the installation was simple, making sure I followed the correct wire positions from the old switch to effect the correct speed.Should be good for another 5 years!
