Our nice fan stopped working and after doing some research, it sounded like it was probably the capacitor. So I ordered this and hooked it up. I actually clipped the old wires and wire nutted the new one in rather than mess with making all new connections. Anyway, it only took about 20 minutes and the fan now works fine. I didn't even replace the pull switch since the old one's still working fine. So save yourself $200+ and the pain of installing a whole new fan, and just get this.

The replacements were fine but didn't fix it It's obviously something more. The fan is 30 years old. Worked fine till hurricane cut the power several times in a row.

Be careful, the printed diagram has terminals 1 and 2 reversed. The molded diagram on the switch is right. Terminals L and 3 are okay.

My ceiling fan began smoking. One look and it was obvious that the capacitor was fried... This capacitor and pull switch was all I needed to repair like new. A few dollars for this capacitor and switch saved a several hundred dollars fan.

The capacitor is fine. The switch is made of cheap cheap cheap plastic. The load wire receptacle was shot and didn’t work. I should’ve noticed the free reviews from vine. I wouldn’t buy this again. I am not going to instal the switch.

I ordered and received the exact part number that was on the original part. However, this part was about 1/4†taller and would not fit in the place where the original sat. That seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal, right? Well, it was. I could not get the cover back on so I have to find the smaller version and try again.
