I needed to replace 10+ yr old smoke detectors that I had in each room, hallway, and unfinished basement areas.These are smaller in diameter than the older First Alert types that I had. Usually I put a label on the detector of the manufacture date so I can then quickly see if I exceed the 10 yr mark. See pic. Other folks can probably put the year to replace date on it.Otherwise they seem well built and easy to install. So far no problem or false alarms.

These fire alarms have mostly met my expectations for home safety. I purchased six units, and while four of them have worked flawlessly, two have been problematic, going off randomly after a few hours. Fortunately, I only needed four, so this hasn't been a major issue for me this time.The alarms that are functioning correctly provide peace of mind with their reliable performance. The photoelectric sensors are quick to detect smoke, and the light and sound warning is loud and clear, ensuring you're alerted promptly in case of fire. Installation was straightforward, and the inclusion of 9V batteries is a convenient touch. However, the inconsistency in performance is a bit concerning. Having two out of six units malfunction suggests a quality control issue. It's something to keep in mind if you plan to rely on all units you purchase.These smoke detectors are a good value for the price, offering reliable protection for the majority of units. If you need multiple alarms, it's wise to test each one thoroughly. Despite the minor issues, I would still recommend them for their effectiveness and ease of installation for the price.

These smoke detectors are small and were easy to install. The batteries that are included were no good so we purchased better quality batteries and they tested fine. I hope we never need them.
