The smoke detectors (3) replaced older model ones that were 10 years old. When I press the test button on each one they alarm. I hope that means that if they are truly needed (hopefully not) the detectors will alarm.

Here was my first review:"Pressing the "test" button indicates that these detectors are working properly.However, I lit a sheet of paper on fire and let it smolder to produce a lot of smoke.Exposing these detectors to the smoke in did not set off alarm."But this test was a mistake on my part . . . .After I returned the smoke detectors for a refund, I purchased another brand of smoke detector, and did the same smoke test . . . and these detectors also did not sound the alarm.I was surprised.However, by keeping the smoke on the detector for a longer time, the detector finally did sound the alarm.Then realized that all smoke detectors probably have a delay in sounding the alarm, because they don't want false alarms.So the test I did on these smoke detectors was wrong, and I made a mistake by returning them.To test a smoke detector, it's necessary to let the smoke stay on the detector for a longer time than I did.Mea culpa . . . .

The smoke detectors come with batteries and are extremely easy to install. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to update their detector our has a room lacking a detector

I purchased these detectors and they didn't work at all, my house filled with smoke and I had to open all doors and windows to vent out the smoke. I placed a smoking sheet of paper underneath each detector and not one of them sounded so DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE CHEAPLY MADE PRODUCTS, I SAY AGAIN DO NOT BUY THESE.
