Just make sure you have room in ceiling fan for the remote box. only 5 wire hook up. The most challenging part was placing the receiver in the canopy. Connecting the receiver to the fan was child's play and the receiver to the house wiring was even easier.

Installed these nifty gadgets yesterday on two new Hampton Bay ceiling fans. I'm using my own light covers that I bought from Amazon and color changing light bulbs with their own remote. At first I thought oh no, these don't have dip switches and I will be unable to control both fans with one remote, but that was not the case. I'm not sure how many codes the remotes can learn but I have one remote controlling two fans in the same room using the remote control learning method and did not clear any codes. This works flawlessly. I'm just thrilled. The remote control may prevent controlling the fan with the pull chain but I'll investigate that later. So far, so great!

I think I have purchased 4 of these so far. They are small and easy to install. Considering what these will cost at The Robbery Depot, you can't miss buying them here.

Got these quickly, very economical. Not being electrically-inclined and not seeing wiring as expected, had skilled handyman install as part of other work.Two worked fine, to control fans-lights in adjacent rooms; each control operated just the fan-light in their room.The 3rd was a problem. It did not properly operate the fan and, importantly, also operated the fan-light in each of the other two rooms.I knew these controls contained no dip switches as many others do; they are pre-set. Maybe was lucky with 2, I don't know.AMZN refunded me and I ordered replacement control like the original 3. If it doesn't improve the results for the one control, I also ordered a different manufacturer control that has dip switch that should overcome the problem of controlling other fan-lights.

I bought this 3 pack because I had helped a friend install a new hunter fan with electronic controls. The controls on their fan did not work. Hunter supplied a replacement still no go. Our places are off grid. Their Inverter supplies dirty power. I thought maybe a universal module might be more robust. I first installed 2 of the units in our older fans. Other than putting 10lbs of stuff in a 5lb box it went great and they worked perfectly.I installed the 3rd module in the friends fan. Perfect even with their dirty power! One of the great features for us is that if you want to use the fan as a room light each time you cycle the wall switch to on the light comes on. The fan does not. The 3 speeds work smooth and quiet. I have not tested the timer function. One of the modules quit after a couple of days. Nothing. I pulled it apart. Build quality looked good, these things do happen but should not. I found that one end of a surface mount diode was not soldered to the ckt bd. Repaired the solder and it is working fine again. Hope not to have any other failures! BTW the hunter control modules work fine on my power!

I worked with my wife to install these, she had no problem putting them in. Nice to have the timer on the fan. Well worth the price

Only way to tell would be reverse the installation.Must have room in the area between ceiling plate and fan mount to fit. 2 of 3 fans did but the other took a lot to make it happen.Wiring is small gauge which may explain part of why it runs slower.AAA batteries not includedMay be nit picking but.... Wall mount for remote doesn't go behind top part of remote and gap makes the remote lean back when pressing.Would be nice if it would dim the light as well as on/off.
