New laser pointer much much brighter than the old one - now I can see the line !And a lot cheaper than buying a 'genuine' complete module (which are now obsolete, so are hard to find anyway).

Ordered two of them so I could use them in the places I needed. One has a thin enough line to use. The other one has a smeared double line about 3/16 inch wide.I haven't run them enough to see if the bad quality of the line indicates a poor lifetime or not.I expect to buy a replacement soon. It will not be this type. These are poor quality.

Purchased for laser alignment but line too short and too thick to work.

I purchased these so I could have a line for my chop saw, the first one initially was great until I turned my saw on and the diode inside rotated off verticle, at first I thought I had it not tight in the clamp I purchased with these. It was tight and I had no way to secure it. I replaced it with the spare I got and that worked fine, however the laser line was much thicker, more than the kerf of my blade (3.2mm). I did read reviews regarding the differences between each one particularly the thickness of the line. It has worked well eventually for my purpose, knowing what I know now I would order 4 because they are cheap. Lining my scripted mark up to the line is easy now. I'm happy.

The laser project is far from perfect but they are very easy to use. The projected line curves a bit at the ends but the middle of the projection is great. Don't use them to land a ship on another planet but they're fine DIY projects.

We use these on our industrial saws to line blades with cuts. Work well

These DO NOT PROJECT STRAIGHT LINES. They are curved slightly. At a short enough distance it probably wouldn't matter, but at a few feet it becomes a real problem. I bought these for a novel DIY car alignment project I was working on and mounted them in my garage with a handful of 3d printed parts and chalk lines layed out on the floor. After several hours of minor adjustments I could not figure out why I was unable to project parallel planes until I realized the beams are curved slightly! They are also pretty dim and are not really visible unless you turn the lights off. Overall I'm very disappointed having spent a decent bit of energy on this project only to have poor quality optics be the reason it flopped. Curvature at 8-10ft distance is approx. 1/8" per 4ft of projected line
