3. If you want your pool's temperature to rise quickly, having a solar cover covering the pool at night is helpful.
4.The heat pump is for outdoor use, IPX4 waterproof.

I used this heater on a 16ft above ground pool that was filled only about 30 inches.We had the heat set to 93F in Chicago to keep it nice for toddlers and babies and it did pretty well. Solar cover was needed at night or it'd lose the heat overnight, but great when covered.Cost me about $100 per month to run, which isn't bad at all considering I ran it almost around the clock.I saw posts complaining that the pvc quick connect is metric (80mm). It fits a 2" adapter on the outside perfectly, or you can ditch the quick connect fitting all together, the threads on the unit are 1.5".Only thing I regret is not getting the bigger unit. I have a feeling it won't be able to keep up with the pool filled all the way up.

This thing comes with fitting that won't hook up to your above ground pool and you can look everywhere for fittings to be able to hook it up to it but you won't find them. Would be nice if they would put them in with it or sell them separately so you could complete the installation. Didn't want to send it back but it doesn't do me any good if you can't hook it up and use it .
