I install this motor on April 24 and it was dead on July 8. Power was going to the timer but the motor was dead. After reading some of the reviews on Amazon I determined this was the best motor and pump to fit my situation. The motor ran quite and had plenty or suction the 10 weeks it has worked. I tried to contact the seller but they only respond to e-mail. Since I live in Arizona and our daytime temp is over 100, I cannot afford to let my pool sit idle for very long, so trying to get some customer support on a Friday is fruitless. My motor is now being looked at so I may add to my review after I find out if the motor can be saved. Botton line I would not recommend this motor. REVIEW UPDATE 14, July, 2022 As of this date we have spent $403.17 for the motor, $103.00 for a trip to our electrical shop to see why the motor quit in the first place and $195.00 today for an electrician to diagnose the issue, two connectors that are held in place by cheap plastic, it gets hot the plastic melts the connectors come apart and the motor STOPS ! We have now invested a total of $701.17, in an unreliable product. If you want a reliable product THIS IS NOT THE ONE TO BUY!!!!!!! We tried to talk with the manufacturer but were only directed by their answering machine to" leave an email and they would get back to us," this is a swimming pool we are dealing with , news flash, pools need to have filters running! The amazon lists "Hayward SSP" , what does that mean? It means to us a POOR PRODUCT, that amazon should not be selling!

I bought this to replace a Pentair pump. I was easy to install. So far it runs great. The motor casing gets hot when running so be sure not to put anything near it or in contact with it. The pump does a good job and seems to be very efficient.

My 1 1/2hp inground pool pump went out Tuesday. Got on Amazon and found this pump. I had other options, but this seller said delivered with free shipping on Friday. Pump did arrive on Friday! I got home from work and wanted pool to run over night since it was off three full days. It took me less than an hour to remove old pump and install this one.. it's Sunday now , running quiet with no issues. I was going to get hayward but the hayward pump that came with the pool only lasted a year and a half! At this price I can buy an extra one for a spare. Time will tell. Thank you.

This pump is very powerful, very efficient for the price. Vacuuming the pool is so much easier with this pump, I am very happy my purchase

after returning the first one of these pool pumps that was damaged and did not work on arrival.we made the mistake of returning it for another one of the same kind.it worked for less then a week then completely failed. without reason, wiring was fine, water level never changed, it just torn its self up inside.after triggering the overheating shut off constently.i pulled it apart to see a the motors rotor complely torn up. like something broke off inside of the motor housing and shredded the inside.internal parts were also damaged on the first pump i got.dont waste your money on this.their are better pumps at half the cost.

i was happy for the first three months until it became louder and louder. the auction was decent and it self primed well however and unfortunately gave our before having it a year. i don’t expect to have to replace a pump every year so obviously wouldn’t recommend it.
