I had replace some older light fixtures a few years ago with new LED fixtures. One of the new fixtures quit but rather than replace the whole fixture I bought this light engine. The cool thing is I didn’t have to modify the fixture because this attaches it self to the fixture with magnet on the back of the light engine.

I prefer 4" lights as they are sized for most ceiling fans, and 5000K color temp which is a nice white light. I have been replacing LED light engines for several years, and whoever came up with the idea of using magnets to mount these is a genius. Much better than drilling, tapping, and making custom standoffs.What a difference an LED light makes; much brighter than the OEM halogen bulbs. I like 5000K color temperature, and the color from these is a little too blue for me at 6000K. This unit generates a lot of heat, this may be a concern for longevity in an enclosed light fixture. I have it installed in an enclosed fixture, and will report back any issues if it fails.The light comes assembled with the magnets. I thought this would not matter, but some of the competitor LEDs do not come assembled, and the plastic protector does not fit right. When the magnets are attached at the factory, the entire assembly already fits together correctly.The plastic connector included is junk; does not take enough wire to safely connect. I use which may be one of the best inventions for electricians in the 21st Century.I have found these seven products to all be the exact same items: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) I would recommend the ULIKELED because the specs and pictures are accurate. There 3 color choices are a plus 3000K/4000K/5000K! Very well built and very easy to upgrade a ceiling fan and a floor lamp. Really love that the 3 magnets on the back i can mount it anywhere, i didn't had to screw it down, because the magnets hold it in place very strong.

This thing is ridiculous. What possible use case could this have?I can only think to two scenarios:1) You remove the bulb socket(s) from your existing light fixture and replace it with this, then put the original fixture shade back in place, or2) You attach it directly to the junction box, replacing the light fixture entirely, not just the bulb. But this also means there is no way to attach a shade or cover to it.In scenario 1, there would be no point in doing so when you can just insert an LED bulb. You can get them in many different temperature colors than the 3 this offers and you can replace them whenever you want/need to.I'm scenario 2, you have a hideous looking "fixture" attached to your ceiling or wall that just looks out of place.I just don't understand the point. Was it originally intended to replace a very specific part on a very specific fixture and they realized they weren't going to sell or they made too many?I mean, yes, it works. But to what end?Based on the description of the listing, I thought it was going to replace the hanging bulb socket and shade on my fan ceiling so that it was low profile, like in some of the pictures. But that's not what it does at all.

Light is great but this exact module is way to big to fit any ceiling fan/light...The way the globes are made this module is much too wide and you won't be able to put back your light shade. I even tried to reduce it with my dremel but even then it's still too wide.I love the idea but if smaller exist go for smaller.This one is useless for me and will be for anyone.
