Good product . We use the 3/8s in some of our line boring equipment and flange facers portable equipment they work fine in those applications , you will need to purchase higher quality inserts

Maybe I just got a batch of junk, but these bits do not hardly cut aluminum or brass, let alone try them on tool steel. I quickly replaced these inserts with good quality bits and the bit holders work fine. They are plenty sturdy enough to handle tough cutting tasks on my old Atlas lathe.
