This review is for 1/4 Shank Carbide Square End Mill for Aluminum Cutting 3 Flute 1/4 Cutting Dia. 2-1/2 OVL. Uncoated (Bright) Finish Upcut Spiral CNC Milling BitThis is a very well finished 3 flute end mill for use in aluminum only. It is 2.5" OAL, providing increased clearance for certain operations.I examined this mill new and after about 15 hours of cutting 6061 on my Taig CNC mill. I saw no perceptible wear. I would expect this will to give good service if not abused.The mill was installed in a 1/4" ER16 collet and had less than 0.001" TIR at one inch from the collet face.The finished produced by this mill when conventional cutting is quite good and almost does not require a finishing pass.One thing I always mention in these reviews is the lack of feed and speed information or even chip load chart. Of course, one can figure such things out by experiment, but a simple chart allows one to reach the maximum performance of the tooling more quickly.This is a high quality tool for a good price, but I would buy the 5 pack to save more money. I look forward to making a lot more use of this tool.

I would like to start by saying that I have an inexpensive entry level CNC that uses a router for a spindle. Up until recently I didn't mess with anything other than wood or plastics. I had been thinking about working with some soft metals right about the time that I came across this bit. This bit comes well package and looks like a well finished product. It cut smoothly once I figured out all of my settings. Now that I have a few soft metal cuts under my belt I think I will be playing with it a little more. I'll be back for more of these bits as needed but this one worked well for me and my hobby grade machine.

Using this on my small desktop router with fairly mild feeds. Seems to work quite well with decent surface finish. Will see about durability but will likely last a life time in the home shop. Good value.

Very nice extremely sharp bit that comes in a very handy protective case. I needed a smaller shank bit for working on my small dremmel table since I have several upcoming projects that have many aluminum parts and this bit is perfect. It will also come in very handy later on in my cnc build for many projects to come. As long as I can keep it from snapping from putting too much load on it it should last me a long time.

Good quality extra long bit gave clean results on aluminum and has maintained its edge!

Used it to cut a few channels in an aluminum bar for a project I've got going. It did a reasonable job at it. It's sharp enough that I didn't need much tool pressure to push it through the material.Recommended.

For $15.TL;DR; Sharp fine grind;I use these end mills for general purpose machining in a home shop. Non-CNC.The value pack of these end mills is in the 5 pack. This version isn’t listed that way so shop around. This is a bench review only but I’ve never been disappointed by an end mill that has such a clean fine grind on it. I broke out the macro lens so you can get an idea of the quality of the finish.I’m happy to see the extra manufacturing package includes extra protection for the flutes in a compact package.No surprises and good to very good value. 5 Stars.How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review.
