If your ford blows spark plugs into the stratosphere this is an affordable way to fix it. Just drill carefully

This set is supposed to be compatible with 3 or 4 different Ford engines. The funny thing is, it comes with 8 inserts but, I have the V-10 engine! Fortunately I don't need to do all 10 cylinders immediately. What I've done already have gone really smooth. This is a good set......for V-8's and almost V-10's.

I was a little unsure about using this kit because it wasn’t one of the high dollar ones from the parts store. I used it to repair the spark plug threads on a V 10 Ford gas engine and it worked flawlessly.

The reamer chipped on the first hole. Didn't catch it until cleaning it for the second hole. I cleared the back edge of the chip in order to proceed with the remaining seven plugs, but elected to stop. As brittle as it is it could snap off or fragment and require engine disassembly for cleanup. The tap cuts fantastic. It appears as though the reamer was not properly tempered. A reamer should never chip out as this one did, especially in cast aluminum.I would give one star, but the tap was the redeeming factor. In addition the inserts are listed as stainless steel. While 18/8 or 304, whichever you choose, are slightly magnetic these inserts will jump to a magnet indicating an abnormally high ferrous content. They look good and are well machined, but as to nickel content I have my doubts as to percentage.I am no expert, but have over 40 years machine shop/tool design experience. Given my previous experience with cutting tools I recommend looking elsewhere for a repair kit.
