After trying three other tools this one fit into a tight space, closed around the tube and slid into place in under a minute we were able to remove the bad end.

Quality is good enough and decently made. For a 2006 chevy silverado, it worked for the left heater core connection from engine but would not work on the right side one from engine. The collar is too big and would not wrap around and fit between the line and curved part of firewall. I filed off one side quite a bit and it still wouldnt fit.

The tool worked perfect in a really tight spot where any other tool would be in the way !

I went almost a year without heat and A/C in my truck and I live in Ohio so it was brutal. When looking for a heater core (as I thought I had broken off one of my inlet pieces on the firewall side) I happened upon a YouTube video that showed the quick connect on the end of the heater hose and I realized that I'd only broken off the quick connect end, not the actual inlet to the heater core! My truck is over 20 years old so I knew it would be tough to get the quick connect freed up from the inlet which led me to think I need a metal disconnect tool, plus, I had a bad experience with the plastic ones on a fuel line in the past. I found this disconnect and it had a hinged feature that proved to be phenomenal it getting it into that tight space behind the quick connect and the firewall. Truth be told, I had to use a pry bar (but don't pry on the inlet itself, as it is somewhat fragile) to carefully pry back the firewall a small amount to fit this disconnect tool in there. Once that was done, I neatly slid in the hinged disconnect tool and pulled it toward me, it opened up the inside clips but the quick connect was still stuck. I carefully spun it around in an incremental circular direction, and it came loose! This would not have been easy, or perhaps even possible, with a plastic disconnect tool. I love this little tool and if you have to do this job, you need, no really, you need this item! Thank you to the brilliant people that came up with this tool! Great quality, and saved my tail section, if you know what I mean.

Quick connect is not as pictured. Will not work on 2013 suburban. I needed the heater core hose with the white quick connect plug. This is not it.
