Have had two up and running on two different water meters for about for months now. They work well up to about 200hz which for my domestic units represents around 10gpm. Enough for concurrent showers but possibly not sufficient for irrigation systems. If you need faster Sparkfun has one (for more $) that has a 1khz sample rate. I didn't need to go there though.

These worked great with no issues. I love the fact they came with two styles of header pins, the L shaped ones were perfect for keeping the height of my project to a minimum.

I purchased a set of 3 for an autonomous vehicle project, and zero of them were able to communicate with my Arduino Uno board. I'm not sure what else to do but try to buy them from someone else.

In case you didn't realize when looking at this item it requires you to solder the header pins. Which is great in this case because this item is tiny so it doesn't take a lot of space. With the two header ping options you can maximize space in your project/breadboard. I am working on an Arduino weather station project and this item provides good measurements. What I like the most is how small it actually is. I would recommend you try this item out.
