The tools look well made. The rubber hand protector is good for protecting neophyte rock hound. The two different points are good for holes as well as splitting the rocks. Overall a good tool.

Two of the tools sent were obviously used before; they had concrete/mortar dust on them and had various nicks in the metal. I returned the set since I was not going to pay full price for used tools.

We ordered these a couple days before a rock-hounding trip and we were pleasantly surprised that they arrived in time for our departure. They have held up well in the few months that we've had them. Totally worth it for the price!

These work just fine but as I hammered on them for some time the handle does not stay in the same place where it started. They continued to be usable for my entire job but I suspect there would be problems with long term hard use.

Only have used them for splitting some small rocks. Plan on using them more next spring to look for fossils and christals.
